About asthma self-treatment with TCM Gua Sha

About asthma.

Also known as Bronchial asthma; Exercise-induced asthma.

Asthma is an allergic condition that affects the respiratory tract. It is long lasting (chronic), however the individual episodes of asthmatic signs and symptoms may be short lived. There is inflammation in the airways, meaning white blood cells have been activated and chemicals involved with immunity (such as histamine) are present in the airways. The airways are also hyperresponsive, which means that they will narrow (bronchoconstriction) with certain triggers that wouldn't cause the airways to narrow in many other unaffected people. There is also an increased amount of mucus in the airways too during an exacerbation of asthma. This causes the typical signs and symptoms of coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath (especially on exertion), and a tightness in the chest.Asthma is a dynamic disease, meaning that it can vary hugely between people and over time.

TCM looks asthma from a different way and offer different therapies.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) holds that the occurrence of this virtual asthma is phlegmy inside out, and fell on his lungs. Lung have empty. In the external cause infection, by eating disorders, sentiment, overstrain body, lead to such factors as the sputum resistance airway, lung gas on inverse, appear a series of the signs and symptoms of asthma. Main exogenous because of wind, cold, heat, wet pathogen and diet sour, salty, and Ian, fat, etc, or because of angered, too tired and lungs gas lift disorderly, sputum rise happens inverse gas resistance, lung disease and adverse gas unobstructed.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) views asthma as a condition that develops when the body does not produce enough of a quality, called defensive Qi. Defensive Qi protects the body from attack by external factors, such as heat and cold. Defensive Qi is a type of energy produced by the kidneys and distributed by the lungs over the surface of the body. When either the kidneys or lungs (or both) do not function properly, the amount of defensive Qi available is reduced and the body becomes more susceptible to diseases, such as asthma.

TCM Gua Sha give you a way to treat asthma with self-treatment.

As asthma was caused by the disharmony or deficiency of kidneys and/or lungs, so the treatment should be focusing in regulating Yin-Yang, which will nourish the deficiency of kidneys and lungs, and regulate the flow of Qi, and as a result remove the root cause of asthma. By rising the function of lung, it will influence the function of kidneys, which will generate more defensive Qi and lower the trigger of asthma, and eventually cure the asthma.

Gua Sha, the ancient Chinese therapy appears to be at least two thousand years old, and has been proved to be extremely effective in treating both chronic and acute disorders such as headache, asthma, bronchitis, heatstroke, pain and stiffness.

Gua Sha is based on the same theory as acupuncture. The difference is instead of using needles to stimulate the accurate acupoint. Gua Sha therapy can yield the same result by scraping the proper area on your skin with simple Gua Sha tools.
In general Gua Sha helps stimulating the immune system, detoxifies and de-acidifies, promotes the circulation, regulates functions and organs, removes blockades and pain, revitalizes and regenerates ("life-extension"), diminishes stress, fatigue and burn-out, improves and cures countless chronic and acute disorders, complaints, rebalances emotions, relaxes and promotes clarity of mind...everything through ONE simple treatment.

The theory of Gua Sha therapy in treating asthma is to stimulate the acupoints which helps to promote and regulate the functions of kidneys and lungs. Through sessions it will effectively reduce the frequency and severity of attacks, and eventually cure the disease completely.

The technique of Gua Sha is very easy to learn and practice. And it is drug free and no known side effect. It is the most affordable, practical, safe and effective way in treating and controlling your asthma.
