Some Questions about Frozen Shoulder treatment

frozen shoulder picture

All the people been suffered or be suffering by the frozen shoulder will be familar with this picture. It explain what happened to your shoulder. But if you know something much detail of that? Let me explain it to you.

Question: What froze my shoulder? Why it is painful?
Answer:It is known that tight, constricted myo-fascial tissue will become compromised in terms of blood supply and lymphatic drainage (ie its capacity to remove wastes from the tissue). Lactic and uric acid, both bi-products of energy production in the cells (metabolism), can concentrate within these compromised areas and both, along with calcium, are capable of crystallizing. The result is accumulations of acidic crystalline toxins within the myo-fascial structures of the body which contribute to dysfunction and increased levels of pain. When you try to move, the sharp edge of the crystals will harm to the surround tissue. As well the constricted tissue, which has hindered the lymphatic system in its removal of the metabolic wastes, is also capable of trapping the subcutaneous superficial nerves. These nerves, tethered in the tissue, are unable to stretch as they need to as the body moves. Their self-protective response is to begin to lock down the surrounding muscles to restrict movement as much as possible with obvious consequences in terms of function and subsequent pain. This froze your shoulder.

So,in short, you shoulder was frozen by the crystals generated from the metabolism and had not been removed for the bad condition of the circulation of your shoulder tissue. This is way you will get the frozen shoulder and why it offer pain to you.

Someone had question about the detail of the pain. So I add another post here which explained it in detail. It is named <About the PAIN of frozen shoulder>. Your access and comments are welcome.

Question: How to treat with the frozen shoulder?
Answer:To treat frozen shoulder, we must find a way which can help us to remove those crystals from the tissue. In the Modern Medicine, there seems no effective way to to it. The oral medicine and cortisone injection, both to treat with the "inflamation" but not the crystals. So it will not relief the pain. The physical treatment is right, for it can help to increase circulation of the shoulder area, but not effective. It will need to take a long term of treatment, and it is also very painful to the patient.

Till now the most effective way to treat frozen shoulder is Gua Sha. By simply use a Gua Sha board (Scraper) scraping the skin, the sharp edge of the board generate the pressure to the tissue can both move the crystals out from tissue and improve the circulation. It is the the quickest method to relief your pain and improve his/her condition. Although, you will feel pain during the treatment, but this pain is not generate by the scrap, but by the sharp edge of the crystals as they contact the surrounding tissue. Usually, as the result of Gua Sha, the Sha mark will appear on the skin. It was caused by the sharp edge of crystals rupturing microscopic capillaries that causes the ecchymosis and subcutaneous blemishing, we call it Sha mark.

The patient of frozen shoulder will experience a release and relief just after the stroking ceases, for the crystals been moved out from the tissue.

Question: Where to get the Gua Sha treatment?
Answer: For Gua Sha is very easy to learn and very easy to practice, you can do the treatment by yourself. Gua Sha tools are very simple, you need only a Gua Sha Board (Scraper) and a bottle of Gua Sha Oil. Question: Why this article?
Answer: The Modern Medicine(MM) and the Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) are all for health of human being. They have different basis and different growing history. For both of them have their own boundedness, it is really difficult to get the conclusion about which one is better. The more better way is to apply both of them for our health. For some acute diseases, MM have more directly and effective way to treat, then we choose MM for treatment. For some chronic disease, the TCM my have better way to treat, then we choose TCM. To some diseases, for example the diabetes, it need we apply both of them for different purpose(I will explain it in other articles.). So I strongly suggest the combination of MM and TCM, not MM or TCM.

To the people in Western world, it maybe difficult to know the TCM well. I plan to write several articles to introduce TCM in a more simple and easy to understand way.

One thing need to mentioned here is that I am not a doctor, I'm a IT guy.I have the experience of been suffered by several kinds of chronic diseases, such as, frozen shoulder, chronic bronchitis, and diabetes. Yes, diabetes. I cured it by myself by combine MM and TCM. Those experiences made me known the value of open another eyes for my health. Now I am pleasure with being a impeller of the combination of MM and TCM around the world. I will do this through the Applications and the blog, maybe some other ways in the future.

This is the first article, I will write more in the no longer future. Your comments and feedback is really appreciated!
